Some going

Last time I looked at the scale I saw 283 which with all the hormone issues I am having at the moment is not bad. I stopped taking one of my meds and my body is doing some adjusting. Along with the fact that it has been raining every day which has put a damper on getting any walks in. I however am ready once the rain stops. I got a couple more pairs of walking shoes, these are actually in the wide width that I need and should do a good job. One pair was half off which is why I got two pairs instead of one.

I have stocked my kitchen with healthy food and am planning on doing a lot more cooking at home. Even cleaned the freezer out so that I can find stuff easier. Boy that makes a huge difference.

All in the attitude

I'm up at 1am...I had fallen asleep around 7pm tonight and that was my undoing. I had such a headache and though I wanted to do some reading I gave up and fell asleep instead. I'll have to work to keep this from causing me any more missed sleep this week.

I had my yearly doctor exam today. My doc mentioned my weight gain over the last couple of years, 20 pounds. For a second I felt disappointed cause it was a reminder of how hard this has been the last bit but then I put my chin up and told her how well I have been doing and that I am on week 4 of exercising at least 6 days a week.

It didn't help that she saw me in the afternoon after two meals, plenty of water and my bloat week. So I am not sure how much of that 20 was because of that. I know this week I have been up on the scales but I can feel it as water bloat. But I also know that I have not done as well as I would have liked over the last couple of years and I am turn that around and will bring it back down. Next step is to get back to my healthy eating in a constant way. I am doing a little of that now but I really need to do it all day...every day.

I will work on catching up on blogs tomorrow as I didn't get to read today due to having to get weekly paperwork in at work before leaving for my appointment. Now I had better get to bed and try to keep from messing up my sleep cycle too much.

Quick weigh-in post

I don't really have a lot to post. This weekend was very tiring and I didn't get a lot done of the things I wanted to do. In fact the only thing I got done off of my list of things to do was to clean the car inside and out. Least it is much nicer to drive in now. My car cleaning was my exercise for Saturday and then yesterday I got in a 30 minute walk. I would have done more but it was hot and sticky out.

I did manage to get some shopping done so I am prepared with my food this week at least some. Now if I can shake this blah mood I am in and start feeling some better. Would help to loose some of the bloat. Off to drink some water to see if that helps to flush my system of it some.

All in a positive attitude

It rained a lot yesterday so I missed walking but it was only the third day in over three weeks. I don't think that is bad at all. I can tell a big difference in how I am feeling and how well I do on my walks. I am walking at work some days with a co-worker. Then at home with my hubby and if he doesn't feel like it or is busy I have even walked alone. And the mp3 player is very useful on days when I am not sure I want to walk much...nothing like music to help my feet get to moving.

I didn't realize how many days had passed since I had posted. I am working on making more time to be able to post regular. First I had to get caught up on the blogs I read and I just did that as of yesterday. The only one that is not caught up is a new one I added. I also want to work on my page some this weekend. I still need to update my blog roll because there are a lot of ones that I read that I don't have added. Not sure what else I might do with it.

I did use my magic bullet....in fact I have used it twice already and would have more except there was no reason to fix a smoothie when I wasn't hungry. I have done both a protein shake and the ww smoothies in it. I want to try a fruit and yogurt one next. And I do plan to use this weekend to make some herb scrambled eggs and some fresh salsa from stuff I pick up at the farmers market.

I also don't want to sleep in way too late this weekend. I have done that the last couple of them...not got up before 10am. I am up at 6am every day though out the week so sleeping till 10am is a bit excessive for me. I would like to be up no later than 9am but maybe even by 8am. I really enjoy the morning is the biggest part and I feel like i have lost so much of my weekend when I sleep in like that.

A productive day

I have had a pretty productive day even though I have been feeling like I was coming down with something for the last couple of days. Got a sore throat and left limp node is all swollen and tender. I did spend several more hours sleeping than normal today but made up for it once I got up. I have been doing laundry all day and have most of it done and already put away. I swept the kitchen and cleaned up Sebastian's food area. I am not sure which is the messier one...the cat or my husband when he feeds him. There is always stray bits of dry cat food all over his little feeding mat. I have emptied and ran the dishwasher. I have also cleaned and rearranged my desk. I moved my computer to the other side of the desk so that on days when I am able to open the window (today is not one of those days since it's over 90 degrees out) for fresh air the little door on the computer does not blow open and block my monitor like it had been doing. The only draw back is that I can't see inside my computer without purposely doing so, it has one of those clear Plexiglas sides. I liked that so I could look and make sure all the fans where working. Now I have to make sure to check it every once and while since it is our view (it's on the outer left side of the desk now).

I finally bought one those magic bullets. I have been thinking about it for a long time and I decided the other day it would be the last time I skipped making a smoothie just because I didn't want to drag the blender out and use it. So if you have any really good smoothie recipes or know of any other kind of recipe that is weight lost friendly and works well in the magic bullet feel free to email me, my email address is on the front page of my website.

I got a walk in before dinner. I walk around a place called The Greenbelt. It's a nice trail that the city has paved and it runs along much of the city. I think it's very nice and follows a creek for most of it. There are benches to sit placed through out the trail. But right now there is one less. I came upon it on my walk...it was broke complete in half where a large tree had fallen over it. And most but not all of the trail was blocked from the tree. I didn't have my camera or I would have taken a photo to post. I really need to start carrying my camera with me when ever I walk and start posting some shots on here. Hopefully no one was near it when it fell down.

Another step in the right direction

Down another pound. I am still walking most days. I have only had two where I didn't get a walk in. They were around a week a part and were more like rest days. Today I didn't go for a walk but I got a lot of it in while pushing the mower around the yard and picking up the yard.

White I was mowing I checked out my squash and something has nibbled the tops off two of my plants. Good thing I planted 3 each of them. The plants might be able to make a come back but I am not sure. I figure it was a rabbit, they run all around the place. I might try and plant a couple more seeds where these were and see if I can get anything out of them.

Seeing improvements

All the walking is paying off, I feel myself getting stronger and doing better. It really feels good to see some progress. I was able to cut around 25 minutes off my walk around the mountain lake that I hike from time to time. I am actually getting close to my top time that I had before my mom passed away. We made it around in hour 10 minutes. I did end up with a blister on the side of my foot and I was really tired by the time I got to the car. However I was tickled with the time I made. It's so good to see that kind of improvement.

I'm dealing okay with work right now. I just do what I can cause that is really all I can do. I work my day out and then go home to enjoy my evenings. This evening is going to be spent inside because it rained and more so because the police are looking for some guy they think might be armed...he's wanted for shooting a guy in a near by town. We have actually had two calls from the reverse 911 warning system that we have now. This is the first time I have seen it used.

I did get to walk a little today at work. Did about half of the walk I been doing since I have the blister and didn't want to push myself and cause any problems.
