Take a little action today and everyday
The environment has been on my mind a lot these days. Especially global warming with all the record highs and the really hot summer we had that was really too warm for me to enjoy much. It's also seemed to be the worse year for bugs, things that wanted to bite me. I have read about some pretty scary stuff caused by global warming. Take the amoeba that caused at least 6 deaths this year and as global warming heats things up it we'll probably see more cases of that....link to the story. Talk about scary....I didn't like lake water swimming before that but there is no way I would dive in after reading that.
We really need to start thinking about what we are doing to the world we live in. About all the waste we produce every day. We need to find ways to make a difference in that. Buying packaging that is environment friendly as possible. Make sure to take advantage of your cities recycling. Go with greener options in whatever way you can.
I have been changing all my light bulbs to the little spiral shaped environmentally friendly ones. I have been trying to turn the thermostat down and save energy that way. Or when the weather allows skip using any kind of heating or cooling and just let a nice breeze come though the windows.
What have you been doing to help the environment? I would love to hear all about it.

Just found your blog. Love it.
I have been actively separating my recyclables for about a year now. I take public transportation more often than ever before. It's actually kind of nice in more than the "environmentally friendly" way. I use less gas for the car, the garbage doesn't reek from empty food containers any more, and I feel pretty good about it all.
Great post!

Recycling isn't always the trick to helping the environment, at least it isn't for me. I try to clean without using harsh chemicals so I don't interrupt anything going on in the public sewers, I bring all of my plastic, glass and paper goods to a recycling center and anytime I dispose of any computer based item I get in touch with a local electronics recycling center as well.
I'm also in the process of purchasing a hybrid car. I don't drive very often but it's just enough of a 'help' to make me feel a little bit better.
